Would "YouOS" be a threat to GooOS?

Before going onto the topic let me explain what is all about? Everyone might have heard of Google is building up Google OS which the author calls it as GooOS, which is believed to be a web-based Operating System.

Is it realy possible to create a such an OS ???
Yup. It is possible. YouOS proved in its recent alpha release of OS, Itz long way to reach but it is proved Web-based OS is very much possible.

what is YouOS?

YouOS is a web operating system that lets you run diverse
applications within a web browser. Small applications like sticky notes or
clocks. Large applications like word processing, mp3 players, and instant
messaging. Even better, it's very easy to tweak an existing application or write
your own.


Would "YouOS" be a threat to GooOS?
It seems to be... GooOS is in news for atleast 2 years by now. It seems to be a slow progress in GooOS, could be very much efficient any other OS. But YouOS proved it is very much possible to build so many option and get a very good OS, Currently we can't get all the OS features but atleast we may get basic features...

Google may acquire the company in order to increase the speed of GooOS..too.. Google may call it as GooUOS. Lets wait and see the progress how it evoloves....

My advice: YouOS not yet met all the requirements for an OS. but still i'm appreciating the effort and the threat given to GooOS through this alpha release... Hats off to WebShaka, Inc.

I believe Apple tried this several years ago. Their sticky note program messed my computer up so badly that I finalyy got frustrated and replaced it.

I won't be trying this one until it is considered "tried and true" -- say 100 years after a successful launch ....

Nice one da, but i have a simple doubt

To run the YouOS / GooOS , we need a IE/Firefox.
To have a firefox we again need some platform / OS where we need to install these right?

So is the YouOS / GooOS dependent on other OS?

I agree with u VK. But i believe GooOS will become independent on other OS. That could be the reason GooOS will be released on 2010... lets wait n see.

BTW i strongly believe YouOS will be acquired by Google..soon.. Thatz the main reason YouOS came up.. i can't see any other reason for YouOS to comeup with.. I'll blog abt the reasons y google acquire YouOS..

Blogspot's blog posts archived before WWW created... lol

Haha... Isnt it really funny. While browsing, i came across some of the blog posts archived even before WWW(World Wide Web) created... You can look at the screenshots in the left and right hand side. I'm just wondering how Google's blogger allowed to have such things...? Is it really possible to pre-post the blogs even before the WWW & Blog was created? It left me to research when was really WWW created? I just searched on Wiki, to get the answer.., From Wiki, "...The World Wide Web was created in 1989 by Sir Tim Berners-Lee from England , and Robert Cailliau from Belgium , working at CERN in Geneva , Switzerland ..." Hope Wiki is not lying to me... ;-) . Hmm... So i thought Blog must be created after WWW was created... I guess you might be guessing the same.. some research vaguely shows, from wiki, Usenet was the primary serial medium included in the original definition of the World Wide Web .
