DIGITAL OBSERVATIONS

The Internet world talks a lot about Micro-blogging like Twitter , Jaiku , Pownce ..etc. In the beginning i was really thinking about the concept behind Micro-blogging... I had couple of questions in my mind for very long time. What is so great in Twitter? Isn't it just sending messages to Mobile phones instantly? How did it become so popular which has more than 300,000 users around...? Isn't it the same as updating status messages("What are you doing now?")? I did not get answers until Wayne Porter, explained me this is new because it is great because the concept of Micro-chunking is new to the Internet but very efficient.
