Twitter, Jaiku, Pownce... Micro-Blogging Microchunking...and more...

The Internet world talks a lot about Micro-blogging like Twitter, Jaiku, Pownce..etc. In the beginning i was really thinking about the concept behind Micro-blogging... I had couple of questions in my mind for very long time.

What is so great in Twitter?
Isn't it just sending messages to Mobile phones instantly?
How did it become so popular which has more than 300,000 users around...?
Isn't it the same as updating status messages("What are you doing now?")?
I did not get answers until Wayne Porter, explained me this is new because it is great because the concept of Micro-chunking is new to the Internet but very efficient. This is important because increasing User generated Content in Web like Youtube, Social networking...etc., Wayne also had a great observation about it in this post,
"According to a recent report VIDEO (e.g. P2PTV, IPTV, etc) has now taken over HTTP traffic, even P2P traffic as the most prevalent form of traffic online. History aside this is the shift we need to think about it. Source of media consumption really is shifting or has shifted, where we get our information is changing and it changes as it enters into our sphere…this is an important and critical paradigm shift. Web 2.0, User Generated Content, ability to give feedback, etc are having an effect.."

Hmm.. He also described how can it be used in reality to utilize the concept more.

"It brings new thoughts about memetics (or revives older ones), meme fecundity, meme replication, etc. If anything I think our government, any government for that matter, should adopt micro-chunking as a way to get information into the organization. Twitter or micro-chunk among yourselves folks- information and ideas flow faster. Response is quicker and more ideas can be chewed over. Intelligence is only as good as action though."
Hmm.. interesting... Micro-chunked web applications in the name of widgets/gadgets see everywhere all micro chunked content. Damn... Web 2.0 is turning to Micro... Micro.. Micro...

Microchunking is what Youtube is.. where you can see lots of TV programs microchunked and shared in many blogs..e-mails..etc.,

Hmm... Does it lead to Ad-supported, Microchunked videos in future? Hmm.. Video Ads...!!!

Who can be benefited? Itz not only the people going to shoot a film in Hollywood, Bollywood or any other Film Industry. It is gonna be like Who has a camera and they can shoot it.. can attract web audiences in few minutes going to be the kings of Future Films...

It is gonna beat Brands as Sam says... !!!

BTW.. I have couple of Pownce invites left out... Drop your emails in comments field if you want one...

E-Waste?

I'm very proud to participate in Blog Action day. I always had thoughts in my mind about environment in the blog. Thanks to http://www.blogactionday.org for providing me this great opportunity. OK. Let us talk about E-Waste. Being an Indian, I'll talk about What is it all about? and what is the status of it in India? Obviously my first reference about this in Wiki, "Electronic waste includes computers , entertainment electronics , mobile phones and other items that have been discarded by their original users. " Due to lack of time.. I just introduce you guys a web-site http://toxicslink.org/ which has so many articles about the environment... I request all of my readers to read and understand and think ourselves to take necessary steps. If i get time I'll post more about E-Wastes and Environment based articles more. Blogspot's blog posts archived before WWW created... lol

Haha... Isnt it really funny. While browsing, i came across some of the blog posts archived even before WWW(World Wide Web) created... You can look at the screenshots in the left and right hand side. I'm just wondering how Google's blogger allowed to have such things...? Is it really possible to pre-post the blogs even before the WWW & Blog was created? It left me to research when was really WWW created? I just searched on Wiki, to get the answer.., From Wiki, "...The World Wide Web was created in 1989 by Sir Tim Berners-Lee from England , and Robert Cailliau from Belgium , working at CERN in Geneva , Switzerland ..." Hope Wiki is not lying to me... ;-) . Hmm... So i thought Blog must be created after WWW was created... I guess you might be guessing the same.. some research vaguely shows, from wiki, Usenet was the primary serial medium included in the original definition of the World Wide Web .
